Many groups in the late 70's post-punk era adopted a more rhythmic tempo, conducive to dancing. These bands were influenced by disco, funk and other types of dance music popular at the time. Influences were taken from David Bowie, Brian Eno and Iggy Pop and German so-called Krautrock bands such as Can, Neu and Kraftwerk.
